Our Pastor

Hello, I am Kathleen Michael and I am serving as Pastor at Middle River Church of The Brethren.

I reside in Dayton, VA with my husband Bob, we have been married for 21 years. I have one son and three beloved grandchildren.

I was called into the ministry in 2014. After attending and completing a four year program offered by the Shenandoah District, I began serving as the Assistant Pastor at Middle River Church of the Brethren, which I did for 2 years before accepting the full time Senior Pastor position. I was blessed to be ordained in 2021.  I currently serve the Shenandoah District as a member of the Congregational Team.

I enjoy serving others and using the talents and the gifts that I have been given to walk, encourage, and build up the Church Body.  I enjoy sharing my faith and helping others to discover and know God's love. My passion is to serve and share all the resources given to me to help others grow in their walk of faith. I desire greatly to reach out and help all that are in need of knowing that our God loves them, and that the hope we have is in His son, Jesus Christ. I enjoy making relationships with all that I encounter, and to hear their stories about the journey they are on. I love spending time with my family, especially our grandchildren. My hobbies are reading, taking walks with my beloved pet, coloring with our grandchildren, cooking, and baking.

The goals that I have in my heart are to serve our God with everything that he has given me, to grow more Christ-like each day, and to leave a legacy behind for others, to know that our God is the one we serve; that He is our King who has given us hope, and he brings us a gift of living a life of eternity with him.
